As we look forward to the World Day for the Poor this coming November 14, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul invites you in the coming weeks to consider your own good fortune and how your good fortune allows you to assist persons in need. With a donation of money, household goods, your time and talents, you can help us make a difference in the community.

Pope Francis has called for a synod which will explore the theme, “For a synodal church: communion, participation and mission.” The synod calls for a multi-stage process which will culminate in an assembly of the Synod of Bishops in 2023. For the first stage of his process, he has asked bishops around the world to open the process locally in their dioceses on October 17, 2021. Archbishop Smith will be celebrating a Mass to formally open the synodal process locally on Sunday, October 17, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Basilica.
