THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

The Sacrament of Baptism is often called “the door of the Church,” because once baptized, a person becomes a member of the Church – and not just in this parish, but of the whole Catholic Church worldwide.

 

Baptism of Infants and Children

(ages 7 years old and younger)

Baptism of Older Children

(8 to 15 years old)

Preparation for Baptism for children of catechetical age (eight or older) takes place within the RCIA adapted for children.

Baptism of Adults

(16 years old and older)

Preparation for adult Baptism takes place within the RCIA process. Adults celebrate the three Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion. The journey is one of growing discipleship, determined by individual readiness and not the calendar.
