Youth and Family Ministry

WELCOME TO

ST. DOMINIC SAVIO YOUTH MINISTRY

St. Dominic Savio Catholic Youth Ministry aims to foster encounters for teens with Christ and His Church, walk with them as His disciples, and equip them to be sent out as His apostles.

During the school year, we offer regular events and meetings for young people in our schools and community. Registration is needed for liability reasons. Paper forms can be picked up in the office or contact the Coordinator of Youth Ministry for a digital copy. Financial assistance available.

Throughout the year, and especially the summer, we also hold other activities such as summer bible studies, social nights, lock-ins, and retreats.

Our Youth and Family Ministry is starting to meet!

  • The youth group meetings are on Tuesdays, at 6:30pm – 8:00pm.
  • Young Adult Adoration and Meetings take place every first Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm – 9:00pm (Next meeting: Wednesday 3rd Nov. 2021)

Grandparent’s Club

Purpose: In these times, in most families, both parents have full time jobs. The grandparents club is organized to help grandparents become involved in the lives of their grandchildren through school and parish functions.

Meeting Days: The club meets quarterly and helps with various activities throughout the school year.

Membership: All grandparents are welcome. You do not have to have a student in the school or have to be a member of St. Dominic Savio Parish to get involved.

Contact Michael Michael.Okwegba@caedm.ca at the parish office for more information.

Savio Club

(An after school program)

Savio Club will be an after school program for elementary school boys and girls. It’s a fun place where a joyful spirit in the Salesian style is fostered. This club contributes to the integral development of children in mind, body and spirit.

Fun activities include: floor hockey, billiards, ping pong, arts and crafts, board games and bingo.

High School volunteers: For students wanting to get a head start on homework, there’s a study area with High School volunteers on hand who offer tutoring. During our time together, we gather for a moment of prayer and catechesis.

Adult volunteers are essential for the survival of this program. New volunteers are welcome.

Meeting Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:00pm-4:45 pm from October 2021 to May 2022 in parish hall.

Youth Group – Little Flowers

For whom: The Little Flower Club is open to boys and girls from K to Grade 2 along with their moms.

Goal: The program’s goal is to provide young children with an opportunity to gather and learn more about Catholic heritage, faith and traditions in an exciting & fun-filled club.

Meeting Days: Meetings are once a month on Monday night at 7:00pm – 9:00pm.

Contact the parish office for more information.
